Some of the older enthusiasts of historical uniforms of the Polish Army probably remember two books (Cavalry and Generals, stuffs) published in 90. by Bellona with colourful illustrations of the uniforms by the painter Ryszard Morawski. These were the beginnings of the series entitled The Army of the the Duchy of Warsaw. After a few years' break Ryszard Morawski found a new publisher - Pelta, who was interested in continuing this huge undertaking: the publication of the complete iconography of uniforms, equipment and armament of the army of the Duchy of Warsaw. In 2004, enthusiasts of Napoleonic uniforms received the third album in the series: Artillery, Engineers, Sappers (reprinted in the KARABELA 2011 edition).
The KARABELA publishing house continued the project of publishing the whole collection of albums about the uniforms of the Duchy: 2009 was published a two-volume album Uhlans, Honour Guard, Noble Levy, Mounted Gendarmerie, 2014 a long-awaited album Infantry, national guards, veterans, also in two volumes and 2018 a new edition Generals, adjutants, staffs
